It is dissapointing to lose our opening match of the Championship. I feel the key moment during the match came when we were leading 16-13 with an extra player yet still gave away four points. However, this is still the start and there are still four matches ahead of us and hope we will perform better in our next games.
Kiril Lazarov, Player Macedonia:
Congratulations to the Tunisian team on their deserved victory. we lost to an experienced team which held a strong resistance. We couldn't hold on to our three point advantage as we made too many mistakes which in turn cost us the match.
Zoran Živković, Coach Tunisia:
We found It was a fairly balanced match between two equal quality teams. There was enough nervousness during the match which is certainly expected for the first match. I am very pleased with the win and hope to take advantage of this positive start.

I feel satisfied with the result even though there were nerves amoung both teams as it was the first match of the Championship. Macedonia held out very good resistance where as we didn't play as well as we could have. Two points is the most important factor.

I am not at all pleased with the result of our match today as we dominated play, were leading by a significant number of points and still didn't manage to finish the game with a win. If you had asked me if having a draw as an end result would be  satisfying, certainly I would have accepted it but with what happened on the court today I can't help feeling dissatisfied with the result.
Johannes Bitter, Keeper Germany:
I am proud of my teammates and it ended as a difficult match as we thought it would. We showed our quality throughout the match yet we didn't manage to go away with victory even though we were leading for the majority of the game.
Nikolay Chigarev, Coach Russia:
It was a difficult match for us today. I would like to congratulate and praise my players on how they showed  immense effort and in particular my keeper and defense in today's match. I am also pleased with the public who recognized our will to win by supporting our players.

The result is satisfying, even though we were very near a victory towards the final whistle. When you play up against Germany, naturally you expect a difficult match, and so it turned out. Praise must be given to our whole defense that worked extremely hard today which in turn, made it easier for our attacking players.

Bogdan Wenta, Coach Poland:
We are very pleased with today's victory and additionally, the fact that none of our players were injured even though our opponents were not as challenging as maybe others.  This year, the championships have started earlier than those which took place in Germany, so preparations have been rushed for us, yet we are still delighted how the championships have started for the Polish squad.
Adam Malcher, Player Poland:
We certainly didn't expect this to be as easy as it was, but still very happy and we are looking forward to our next opponents and so the real challenges are ahead of us!
Kamel Akkeb, Coach Algeria:
We found this to be an extremely difficult match against quality opponents. We managed to show some good play within the first half however my players began to lose concentration which resulted in an uphill struggle. We made a number of mistakes and I would simply like to congratulate our opponents who deserve the win.
Yacinn Bouakaz, Player Algeria:
We made far too many mistakes that we shouldn't have made, it was difficult for us to make up points after our errors and so their advantage was to stong for us. We hope to continue our play in a much better form.
